Every February, candy, flowers, and gifts are exchanged between loved ones,
all in the name of St. Valentine.
The romantic history of the patron St. Valentine’s Day is shrouded in mystery.
One legend contends that St. Valentine was a priest who served during the third century in Rome.
When Emperor Claudius II decided that single men made better soldiers than those with wives and families,
he outlawed marriage for young men.
St. Valentine, realizing the injustice of the decree, defied Claudius and continued to perform marriages for young lovers in secret. When St. Valentine’s forbidden actions were discovered, the emperor ordered that he be put to death on February 14th.
To commemorate this martyr to love, we celebrate St. Valentines Day around the globe.
Our recommendation for St. Valentine’s Day are our Babaghuri chocolates and our Babaghuri’s Nambu Ironware stationary items.
Please order the chocolates directly from the Babaghuri Kiyosumi store
